On a rainy Thursday, Anh took me to the iconic hotel of Hanoi to have some lunch. We've passed by the building a few times and I can already sense the luxury from outside. You can see that many people are having their wedding photoshoot in front of the hotel because of its iconic architecture of the French influence in Hanoi. There's also a vintage car parked outside, just for the aesthetic. Once we entered the hotel, we can smell some perfume is spritz throughout the space. A pleasant one. We sat down inside near the pool area, ordered few drinks and some food. The tea selection is great and the food too.
The hotel was the first hotel in Hanoi that ever got a five star rate and it's one of the oldest hotels in Hanoi. I would describe the style as the perfect blend between the French art de vivre with traditional Vietnamese touches. There's a terrace inspired by the Parisian brasseries and luxury boutiques (such as Hermès, Patek Phillipe) surrounding the hotel. Because of our pleasant experience in this hotel, Anh & I visited it for the second time before flying back to The Netherlands. On another rainy afternoon, we planned to try their afternoon tea set and a bánh mì alongside with some drinks. Would highly recommend the bánh mì but the afternoon tea wasn't that very special. Nevertheless, it was not disappointing.
